Independence Visitor Center

Located at Sixth and Market Streets and opened in the fall of 2001, the Independence Visitor Center serves as the primary point of orientation to Independence National Historical Park in the City of Philadelphia. The center is 50,000 square feet, containing over 600 tons of steel. The $1.5 million contract for Samuel Grossi & Sons, working with Barclay White Skanska, Inc. of Blue Bell, PA, involved the fabrication and erection of the steel structure between February and May of 2001. For more information, see the Independence Visitor Center site.
